Frances M. Folse (1906 - 1985) was active/lived in Louisiana.  Frances Folse is known for Folk art painting.

Largely self-taught, she took a correspondence course in painting at the age of thirty-two, which marks the beginning of her career for this folk art painter. 
Her work is inspired by the life around her, the fishermen, oil and gas industries, and the plantation life of rural Louisiana.
